The Other Side of Teaching by Evelyn A. Uddin-Khan tells the story of what it’s like to be a teacher in today’s classrooms. In discussing how U.S. schools have fallen to the bottom of the international rating list, the book challenges politicians, budget cutters, policy scribes, and taxpayers (parents) to “stop hiding behind teachers” and to fix the public schools. It also challenges the school hierarchy and looks at corruption within school walls.
