PBS NewHour profiles Wolf Trap’s Institute for Early Learning through the Arts, which continues its 30+ years’ investment in arts education even in today’s tough economic climate. Wolf Trap incorporates arts education with math and science, moving beyond STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) to STEAM. The program, funded by a $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education, trains and embeds teaching artists into preschool and kindergarten classrooms and works with teachers to combine math and science with the arts.
