Harvard Kennedy School’s Paul Peterson recently spoke with 92nd Street Y about the challenges facing the U.S. education system. Peterson points to its shortfalls in science and mathematics as compared with other countries, but he also notes discusses actions that could correct the current system. He also recommends re-examining the federal school-accountability system and building on the charter-school system.
