Australia-Asia education partnerships are not new. Many successful two-way arrangements such as sister schools, language exchanges, and student/teacher tours have operated for decades. As Asian countries interact more closely with Australia’s economy and society, opportunities significantly expand for all schools to engage directly with Asia around languages and culture. and for teachers and education systems to build extended professional networks.
These intercultural partnerships build on networks and high-quality intercultural communication, and their efficacy can be expanded through the innovative use of ICT. Your comments are welcome on this discussion paper exploring success factors in modern educational partnerships.
