Nearly 500 public colleges, accounting for three-quarters of U.s. college students, have pledged to produce nearly four million additional graduates by 2025–an ambitious target that would bring the U.S. closer to its goal of regaining the global lead in college attainment. The participating institutions are not committing to enrolling more students; the focus is on improving college-completion rates.
