Opposition MP Mohamed Habib Mnyaa has blamed Tanzania’s government for not taking higher-education improvements seriously. Said Mnyaa, “About 25,000 students in Kenya and 17,000 in Uganda are graduating from higher-learning institutions annually, compared to 9,150 students in Tanzania.” He then challenged the government to put emphasis on higher education if it wanted to compete with its East African neighbors.
