According to an education consultant based in Syria (speaking on condition of anonymity), Syria is “one of the most stressed education systems in the world.” The country’s education crisis is caused by a rising young population that is stretching current facilities, along with fast-changing demands of the domestic job market–English-language and IT skills–that are outpacing university reforms.
