Based on the Lumina Foundation’s Big Goal, as detailed in a report released yesterday, 60% of the U.S. population should hold a college credential by 2025. As the report notes, progress toward that goal has been incremental. In 2010, 38.3% of adults age 25 to 64 had earned either a two- or a four-year degree–a modest increase from 38.1% in 2009 and 37.9% in 2008.
