More than 90% of higher education faculty who were surveyed for a new Pearson report express awareness of the social media sites Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and blogs in general. When it comes to use, 80% percent of faculty report using social media for some aspect of a course they are teaching, and over 90% use social media not only in class but also for professional advancement.
