Florida’s Broward County Public Schools (U.S.) already had rolled out educational math gaming to its middle schoolers–and had even gone so far as to host two 24-school math tournaments throughout the county this last May and the previous May. Now a local Broward County library, Pembroke Pines Library, is extending the educational gaming challenge further. In partnership with Walter C. Young Middle School, the library is offering a math-gaming system to students aged 11 to 14 and launching a summer tournament series that will run through the end of July. It’s part of an effort to help students retain what they learned during the school year and to reinforce math concepts in general.Source: THE Journal
