While most institutions of higher education are involved at some level in distance learning, Walters State Community College in Tennessee (U.S.) has stayed ahead of the curve, today offering as many classes online as its faculty can teach. The school uses distance learning with its own students as well as with Tennessee high school students, who receive college credits when they pass the program. The community college is also experimenting with podcasting its classes to high school students, especially for schools in rural areas, which are prime candidates for the podcasting system.Source: THE Journal
