A new report by Jobs for the Future explores how U.S. institutions and states are grappling with the issue of college placement test and their effectiveness in gauging student preparedness for college-level courses. The report highlights emerging research, including a Community College Research Center study that found that students’ high-school grades are better predictors of college success than placement-test scores.
