Today, as part of the Global Campaign for Education, 1GOAL released its annual School Report, which assesses education funding around the world. The report shows that while donors such as the Netherlands, Norway, and the U.K. lead the way on aid for education, many key donor countries–including Germany, Italy, Japan, and the U.S.–have been reneging on aid commitments. This report is timely in that the United Nations has confirmed that African countries may be facing education cuts of up to $4.6 billion in 2010 due to the world economic crisis.Source: 1GOAL
