Bio

I have been developing educational software for more than 30 years.  Before I started Learningways, my first company, I taught physics, Jr High math, developed educational film loops, coordinated K-8 math.  I am the founder and president of Enablearning, developer and publisher of EnableMath, a complete online math curriculum for grades 3 through high school algebra which is focused on making practice productive and on understanding through visualization.  EnableMath has increased student success rates in developmental math courses by 20 percentage points and more.My lifework is on enabling every student to achieve his or her educational dreams. I believe that only a fundamental change in the technology of learning can achieve that goal.  I described this vision in my book, New Physical Ideas are Here Needed,  and in a new paper, The Common Wealth Plan.I live in Cambridge, MA with my wife Betty the author of Talk to Me Baby along with many other works on early childhood education.  My daughter Kori has just started her doctorate in special education at BU, my son Brenan is finishing his doctorate in math education at NYU, a my son Arran is a senior at Wesleyan University studying economics.  I am a graduate of the University of Chicago in physics and an MAT in education.
