Thanks Luc. You had asked, “What will inspire them?” I think reality — survival — will force folks to stay marketable. Lifelong learning won’t be an option anymore. I remember my old neighbor telling me to get on board with a corporation and I would be able to stay employed there for years. That strategy worked well for his generation — hasn’t turned out well for mine. I’m not sure any corporate train is on a long distance journey anymore. So learning will be key — and so will accessible, affordable, convenient education.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

In your vision there’s a whole lot of things ICT is going to accomplish. But we can’t know what our children, who grow up with an iPad of other device always at there disposal, will do with this instrument.

So, what’s the battery for lifelong learning? Asking this question focusses on the individual choice, each man of woman can and will make. And people will make their choices. What will inspire them?

Not to long ago Maslov taught us there’s a hierarchy in our choices. But he didn’t know about ICT when he wrote that! So where shall we put ICT in this pyramid?

I can not imagine the film that shows a hunger-starving child, calling for his/her iPad. My guess is that people will make their choices as human beings, using all their senses.
