According to the conference web site, “SXSWedu seeks to drive meaningful conversation and collaboration around promising practices and tools for improved learning. The programming content has been designed for a diverse audience of not only education professionals including teachers, administrators and university professors, but also business, industry and policy leaders who are all committed to creating a better tomorrow.” This three day event taking place in Austin, Texas, will provide insight into educational innovation via themes such as Big Data and Emerging Technologies, OER and MOOCs, Achievement Gaps and Educational Equality, and DIY and Maker. In addition to conference programming, SXSWedu will also hold festival events which include a hands-one makerspace and film screenings. Keynotes and distinguished speakers include Bill Gates, Jaime Casap of Google, Dale Dougherty of MAKE Magazine, and Neeru Khosla of CK-12 Foundation (see our blog regarding from the CK-12 Foundation).
