The joint international conference of the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) and the Asia Pacific Educational Research Association (APERA), which also hosts the focal meeting of the World Education Research Association (WERA) brings together educational researchers from Australia and the Asia-Pacific, as well as many other countries around the world, to share local, national, regional, and global perspectives. The conference theme is Regional and Global Cooperation in Educational Research invites conference delegates to harness the momentum of a joint global conference. At this time of major change in the educational sectors worldwide, many of the issues of theory, policy, and practice facing national education systems are shared across countries and regions. Working with national curricula, preparing teachers for the future, for professional learning and accreditation, and learning technology challenges are some of the key areas to excite impetus for shared research initiatives.
