Providers of free massive open online courses, or MOOCs, are bringing in revenue by selling information about high-performing students to potential employers. Yesterday Coursera announced its employee-matching service, called Coursera Career Services, and some high-profile tech companies–including Facebook and Twitter–already have signed up. Coursera stresses that the program is and opt-in service on the student side. Udacity, another company that provides free online courses, offers a similar service.
